Donate an Animal

We are here to provide sanctuary for unwanted/displaced animals. We do it for the love of animals. Please think carefully before you decide to surrender your animal to a shelter, rescue or sanctuary.

Before you fill out our form to surrender your pet. Please think of these points and questions and be honest with yourself.

Why are you wanting to surrender your animal?

If it has behavioral problems, have you considered a training program?

If you are moving, do you have a friend who would love your pet?

Is the animal old and you "don't want to see it die"? I have to comment on this situation. I am a volunteer for Indian Creek Sanctuary and I am also a person who believes whole heartedly in rescue. When you buy that springy little puppy or feisty little kitten, you aren't even close to thinking about its death. But as the years pass, you see your little bouncing crazy baby turn into a slower, graying animal. He's not as beautiful as he once was, he can't go on those long walks anymore BUT he still loves you just as much. There is plenty of time to go out and seek a new friend, but please keep your graying old guy until the end. I strongly believe this is the final act of love between you and your animal. It's hard to relocate an old animal into new situations and don't think they don't mourn losing you after so many years. Stick with your beloved friend through to the end, and be the one to send them on their way to the Rainbow Bridge. Yes, it is sad and heart wrenching to see your beloved animal take his last breath, I won't say it isn't... But it is much sadder for the rescuer who has to assume that role, knowing that the animals final days were sad for him as he missed you and felt abandoned....

If you see no way out of your situation, that's why we are here. There are situations that people are overcome by and need us. This is an initial form to let us know you need our help. Please realize that when you sign our final surrender contract, we assume complete ownership and care for your pet.

SURRENDER REQUIREMENTS - PLEASE READ!

We are now bringing in many animals into the sanctuary and with many animals comes many different potential problems. After having a discussion among associates/foster homes, all equines, canines and felines will now have to be current on certain Veterinarian services. Our animals live mostly in foster homes with other animals, we do not want to expose puppies and kittens to diseases that they are too young to be guarded against or new arrivals that are not vaccinated yet. We have not had any problems in the past and we don't want any problems in the future.

Also, under no circumstances will any vicious or serious behavioral problem animal be accepted, there are too many friendly animals who are being euthanized everyday who never got the chance of a home. Some behavioral problems can be corrected, we will evaluate the animal on a case by case situation.

Equine Requirements - Must have a current Coggins, WEE, EEE, Rhino, Tetanus, Influenza, Potomac horse fever and Rabies.

Canine Requirements - Must be current on DHLPP, Rabies & Heartworm negative.

Feline Requirements - Must be current on FVRCP, Rabies & Feline Leukemia/FIV negative.

We will need your physical documentations of these or we can have your vet fax these to us.
